Hello all!
I'm Sarah, and I am currently a freshman studying Early Childhood Development/Education. As you can probably tell from that and the title, I hope to one day be a teacher. Specifically, a preschool or kindergarten teacher. I've created this blog to sort of document my thoughts and feelings as I go through this progress, as well as some of the many (mis)adventures that come with the territory whn you work with children! I currently an am assistant teacher at a preschool/daycare, as well as a tutor at an Elementary school. In my free time, I take classes, study for exams, and babysit. It seems I can never really escape children, and to be honest I don't really want to!
I initially started the year studying Elementary Education at a private school in the MidWest. However, I've since realized that Early Education fits me much better, and as such am transferring to a much cheaper school in my hometown. While it breaks my heart to leave everyone I've come to love here, especially my fantastic coworkers, I am excited to see where this new school and program takes me!
I'll leave you with a funny quote from my tutoring job the other day:
"Why don't you go work with J? He's supposed to be working on reading, but it looks like he's doing it with a calculator so I think he's going to need some help."
